Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah is an Indian actress, playback singer and musician, who is mostly in Tamil and Malayalam movies that are based on the Tamil language. Annayum Raolum is her Malayalam and Tamil debut. Her debut was in Tamil alongside Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea Jeremiah is from an Anglo-Indian background. She was the daughter of an Madras High Court attorney. Her older sister is living and working in Leuven Belgium working as a Research Assistant. Jeremiah was born in Chennai and attended National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. Jeremiah has stated that she was an avid geek and wanted to be a psychiatrist until she completed her 12th board exams.Andrea began studying classical piano at the age of eight. When she was 10, she was a part of a Jackson Five-style troupe called Young Stars which formed the foundation of her performing and music composition career. She was performer in her college in several productions organized by The Madras Players or EVAM. She was also one of the Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea began her theatre career by appearing in Girish Karnad's Nagamandala. She appeared in the 2006 leo coffee commercial with Shiva. The year 2006 was the time she was a part-time actress in a TV show broadcast on Podhigai. She has performed roles in India. She performed a very brief role in Kanda Mudhal, the 2005 finale. Following her performance of a song on Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vettaiyaadu he asked her to play as the main female characters in his next film Pachaikili Muthucharam. This film was a film adaptation of the novel by James Siegel Derailed with Andrea as Kalyani who is a housewife her husband who is caught in a sexual affair and gets blackmailed. Andrea was picked to play the character following the actresses Simran Shabana as well as Tabu were offered the role. It was first released in early the year 2010. In 2011, she agreed to perform a tiny supporting role in Venkatprabhu's multi-starrer Mankatha and it was released in August 2011, Annayum Rasoolum, a romantic film made by Rajeeev Rath that was released in 2013, was the actress's Malayalam debut.
